Visit our Transportation Store to reserve your Holiday Airport and Train Shuttle seat 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Reservations Required.  Last day to purchase your Winter intersession Train or Airport Shuttle seat is Wed, Dec 4. 

These special shuttles are to provide transportation to Rhinecliff and Poughkeepsie from campus for students leaving for Winter Intersession.

*Note: there are also buses providing Transportation to Area Airports for Winter Intersession (Reservations Required)*

Area Airports: JFK, LaGuardia, & Albany depart @ 11:00 AM ***Reservations Required

Amtrak (Rhinecliff to NYC) ***Reservations Required

Travel to Rhinecliff Station takes 20 to 25 minutes, depending on weather and traffic.  Plan your train times accordingly.

NEW!  ROUTE C BUS SCHEDULE  Effective 01/04/25  More Buses, More Often!  Still free with a current Bard ID.

MON-SAT:  Dutchess County Public Transit ROUTE C BUS serves Tivoli, Bard, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, and Poughkeepsie (including Poughkeepsie Station for Metro-North and Amtrak Service).  Passengers are encouraged to ride Dutchess County Transit’s Route “C” Bus.  The ride is free with a current Bard Student ID ($1.75 without ID).

Departing Kline Southbound Bus Stop at 6:57 AM, 7:57 AM, 9:32 AM, 12:02 PM, 2:42 PM, 5:17 PM, 6:42 PM, 7:57 PM, and 10:27 PM.

Southbound Passengers will have an 8-18 minute layover at the Poughkeepsie Hub before reaching Poughkeepsie Train Station on the Northbound Route C Bus.  Or, switch to the DCPT “L” Bus, departing the Poughkeepsie Hub at :15 and :45 after the hour until 7:15 PM.

Departing Poughkeepsie Station Bus Stop at 5:37 AM, 6:37 AM, 8:07 AM, 10:42 AM, 1:22 PM, 3:52 PM, 5:22 PM, 6:37 PM, and 9:07 PM.

No DCPT Bus Service on New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.

Return From Winter Intersession

These shuttles are provided free of charge, offering returning students transportation from the train stations to Bard’s Annandale Campus.  Reservations are not required.

Metro-North and Amtrak trains (Rhinecliff and Poughkeepsie to NYC)  Travel from Rhinecliff Station takes 20 to 25 minutes, and travel from Poughkeepsie Station takes 45 to 55 minutes, depending on weather and traffic.  Plan your train times accordingly.

Amtrak trains (NYC to Rhinecliff)

Bard 14 passenger shuttle will depart Rhinecliff Station from Hutton Street at the following times:  All passengers will be dropped at Kline Bus Stop.

  • Fri, Jan 24:  12:15 PM | 1:15 PM | 3:15 PM | 4:15 pm
  • Sat, Jan 25: 12:15 PM | 1:15 PM | 3:15 PM | 4:15 pm
  • Sun, Jan 26: 5:45 PM | 7:45 PM

Metro-North trains (NYC to Poughkeepsie)

Tonche Transit White or Yellow School Bus (or Bard Express Vans) will depart the Poughkeepsie Station Taxi Stand/Bus Horseshoe off the main lobby at the following times:  All passengers will be dropped at Kline Bus Stop.
