Metro North and Amtrak passengers:  Traveling to or from Bard College Monday through Saturday?  Consider taking the Dutchess County Transit Route C bus between Kline Bus Stop Poughkeepsie Station.  The ride is free if you show the driver your current Bard ID while boarding.

BARD Transportation will provide Friday shuttles to and from Poughkeepsie Station (Metro-North & Amtrak) and Rhinecliff Station (Amtrak) for students on the following dates:

Fall 2024:  Fri, Aug 30 – Fri, Dec 13   *Reservations Required  Fri, Dec 20             Spring 2024:  Fri, Jan 24 – Fri, Mar 7 & Fri, Mar 21 – Fri, May 16  *Reservations Required Fri, Mar 14 

Amtrak (Rhinecliff to NYC)  Travel to Rhinecliff Station takes 20 to 25 minutes, depending on weather and traffic.  Plan your train times accordingly.

A Bard 14 passenger shuttle will pick up students at Rhinecliff Station on Hutton Street.  All passengers will be taken directly to the Kline Bus Stop.

  • Drop off/Pick up @ Rhinecliff Train Station: 12:15 PM | 1:15 PM | 3:15 PM | 4:15 PM
  • This shuttle no longer offers service to and from the Village of Rhinebeck.  Please use the Dutchess County Transit Route C Bus, free of charge with your current Bard ID.

Dutchess County Transit serves Tivoli, Bard, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, and Poughkeepsie.  Passengers are encouraged to ride Dutchess County Transit’s Route “C” Bus.  The ride is free with a current Bard Student ID ($1.75 without ID).

The Route “C” Bus schedule runs Monday through Saturday. Poughkeepsie Train Station serves Metro-North and Amtrak trains.

ALERT:  Due to ongoing construction at Rhinecliff Station, pickups and dropoffs at the station have been moved to the upper level South entrance, at Hutton Street and Dutchess Terrace.  Please follow the signs posted at Rhinecliff Station.

Metro-North (Poughkeepsie to NYC)  Travel to Poughkeepsie Station takes 45 to 55 minutes, depending on weather and traffic.  Plan your train times accordingly.

A White or Yellow Tonche Transit School Bus will pick up students at Poughkeepsie Station Taxi Stand/Bus Horseshoe off the main lobby.  All passengers will be taken directly to Kline Bus Stop.

Dutchess County Transit’s Route “C” Bus to and from Poughkeepsie Train Station for Metro-North and Amtrak trains is free with a current Bard Student ID ($1.75 without ID). The Route “C” Bus schedule runs Monday through Saturday.

Departing Kline Southbound Bus Stop at 6:52 AM, 7:22 AM, 9:53 AM, 11:37 AM, 3:37 PM, 6:42 PM, 7:07 PM, and 10:07 PM.

Departing Poughkeepsie Station Bus Stop at 5:40 AM, 6:10 AM, 8:35 AM, 9:20 AM, 2:05 PM, 4:50 PM, 5:20 PM, and 8:50 PM.
