Please be aware that the Transportation Department is dealing with a significant mechanical issue to our 38 passenger shuttle bus. We are doing everything in our power to utilize remaining resources and currently running regularly scheduled services with 11 & 14 passenger vans. We have arranged for our contract bus company Tonche Transit to start this evening @ 5:00 pm with a 30 passenger school bus.

It is important to point out that by law bus drivers are NOT ALLOWED to exceed the seating capacity for these vehicles. Please cooperate with the drivers and understand they are following NYS law and will adhere to capacity regulations. Unfortunately this may be a great inconvenience to your very busy schedule but know we are doing everything in our power to return to normal operations as soon as possible.
Ways you can help and suggestions for alternative transport:
Go Green and when on campus walk, bike or carpool to your destinations. This will alleviate much of the strain and overcrowding issues.
Residents of Red Hook & Tivoli should have priority boarding.
When traveling off campus choose to use public transportation- The Dutchess County Loop Bus!  The loop bus passes through campus 6 times a day for a nominal fee of .75 cents with your Bard ID.

Bard Transportation Notification System

Regroup is Bard College’s Emergency Notification System. Registrants must opt-in to receive Transportation Notifications on shuttle delays, cancelations, and other pertinent information.

How to Sign-Up for Transportation Notifications:

1. Visit https://bard.regroup.com

2. Log-in to Bard’s Authentication Services (Using your Bard email and password)

3. Confirm your Email & Text and Voice Preferences

4. Click the “Join a group” Tab

5. Click “Join ” on the Transportation Notifications

Any and all persons riding a Bard Shuttle must be a Bard student, faculty or staff member with a valid and legible Bard ID. Guests must be accompanied by Bard student, faculty or staff member to use the shuttles. Guest must have a valid pass issued by the office of Security, no exceptions. IMPORTANT SHUTTLE CHANGES

Bard Shuttle Mission Statement

The Bard College Shuttle is intended to offer safe and reliable transportation to/from campus for students residing off campus in the neighboring villages of Tivoli and Red Hook so that they may attend class and engage in the academic life of the college.
