TART safely transports Bard students back to Bard’s campus from nearby Tivoli and Red Hook and back to their Tivoli and Red Hook homes from Bard, free of charge.
Hours of Operation:
TART runs from 11 PM – 2 AM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the semester. TART stops accepting calls at 1:30 AM. In case of inclement weather, please contact Security to learn the availability of the service. If the shuttle has stopped running early, TART will be canceled for that night for the safety of our drivers.
How to use TART:
1. Call TART at (845) 758-7144 to request a ride. Be prepared to give the dispatcher your first name, how many people are with you (if any), the address you are being picked up from, your destination address(es), and phone number (see below for details on why you are asked this).
2. Leave your phone on, and turn off silent settings. The navigator may call or text you with updates on their arrival.
3. Once the van arrives, talk to the Navigator at the passenger side window. They will ask to see your current Bard student ID. After showing ID, you can hop in the vehicle.
4. Get home safely.
How it works:
Students call the SRG dispatcher to request a ride. The driver and navigator pick up said student(s) and bring them safely back to their destination (within the bounds of Campus, Tivoli, and Red Hook).
*A Note about TART: TART is not a designated shuttle, and reserves the right to prioritize certain calls over others. If a student feels unsafe, or is an unsafe situation, our employees will prioritize those students over picking up other calls for transportation, especially while the shuttle is still running.
*Another note about TART: TART cannot accept calls for rides that are only within campus. These calls should be directed to Night Rides.
Any information (name, phone number, etc.) you give TART will not be used against you. The information is to collect data on our usage so we can improve the service and in the event of an emergency or accident.
*Disclaimer: TART is to be used to transport students back home not to transport students to parties, bars, or to be used as a taxi service.
Who runs TART:
Bella Ries is the current Director of Tivoli and Red Hook Transportation. Katriel Kirk is the current Assistant Director. For questions, comments and concerns, please email [email protected].
