Press Release: High Noon on Wall Street — Climate Week Rally To Focus on Business Solutions

-Speakers include Blacklist Star Megan Boone-

At the end of another summer of record-breaking heat worldwide, the MBA in Sustainability at Bard College is sponsoring a lunch-time rally just off of Wall Street. The purpose: to showcase leading business solutions to climate change, and to call for further action.

Megan Boone, star of NBC’s The Blacklist is a featured speaker. Boone is also getting her MBA at Bard part-time, with plans to bring sustainable business models to the entertainment industry. According to Boone, “It’s high noon for the planet. We need climate action now to create a livable world for our kids—including my own daughter Caroline”.

Other speakers include Dr. Robert Litterman, former head of Risk Management at Goldman Sachs, and sustainable business pioneer, finance professional, and author Hunter Lovins.

Lovins notes that, across the world, “business is stepping up with innovative, large-scale solutions to the climate crisis. We are in a race to stop global warming—and that’s the good news. We haven’t lost yet. But all of us, and especially businesses, have got to run faster.”

The Rally will be held Monday, September 24th in New York’s Battery Park, just off of Wall Street, from noon to 1 PM. The location is more than symbolic.

Bard MBA Director Eban Goodstein says that to stabilize the climate, “Finance is critical. We have to move trillions of dollars from bad stuff to good stuff: out of investments destroying the planet’s life support systems, and into renewable energy, circular economy businesses, and sustainable technology.”

Rally co-sponsors include Be Social ChangeNYC Climate Action Alliance and GreenHomeNYC.
