Course Registration
Conservatory Students must register themselves for required Conservatory classes. Please use this guide below as a reference for which classes you are required to take each semester:
Instrumentalists:
CNSV 100: Studio Instruction (4cr)
- Register for the section with Frank Corliss if your teacher does not have their own separate studio instruction section.
- Register for the corresponding Studio Instruction section if you study with one of the following teachers: Marka Gustavsson, Erica Kiesewetter, Blair McMillen, Raman Ramakrishnan, Melissa Reardon, Adele Anthony and Gil Shaham, or Mira Wang.
- USCMI Students should register for the section with Jindong Cai.
- It is required to take studio instruction for 4 credits.
CNSV 110: Chamber Music (2cr)
- All instrumental majors should register for chamber music, unless:
- You have received a waiver from Marka Gustavsson (students must apply by the waiver deadline).
- You have been approved to fulfill your requirement by playing in the Baroque Ensemble or Chinese Music Ensemble.

CNSV 112: Orchestral Training and Repertoire (0cr)
- All students who play an orchestral instrument should register for Orchestra
CNSV 130: Orchestral Repertoire for Winds, Brass, Percussion, and Harp (2cr)
- All students who play Winds, Brass, Percussion, or Harp should register for this course.

Voice Majors:
CNSV 106: Voice Lessons (2cr)
- Register for the section with your studio instructor.
- It is required to take studio instruction for 2 credits.
Composition Majors:
CNSV 102: Composition Tutorial (4cr)
- Register for the section with your studio instructor.
- It is required to take studio instruction for 2 credits.
