WXBC is Bard College’s student-run, free-form, uncensored radio station. We provide original broadcasting to the campus and the surrounding community for 16 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the academic year.

 bards radio station began as the brainchild of elie shneour ’47 who led a small group of students To create the bard broadcasting association in the basement of north hoffman. BY THE FALL OF 1947 WXBC was a fully operational carrier current station. WXBc has taken many forms sINCE ITS CONCEPTION, but it has always remained a student run radio station. TODAY iT OPERATES AS A free form, uncensored internet radio station, offering students an alternative to established media, the chance to share their stories, the latest trends in music, and campus news.
As a student run station, we believe in the ability of college radio to bring together a diverse, lively community gathered around our common love of music and radio, and we are proud to bring the Bard community together both on and off campus. WXBC HAD ITS FIRST BROADCAST ON JUNE 17TH 1947, and we have no plans of stopping!
