As a VAP student you have access to the “VAP Public Calendar” through the Google Calendar app that comes with your Bard gmail suite (“g-suite”). There are several advantages to viewing the VAP calendar from the app instead of using the link that is provided under Conservatory Calendars on this site. For instance:
- You can see several of your Bard gmail calendars at once, including your own personal calendar.
- You can generate a line-by-line list of all VAP events for the semester by entering an asterisk (*) in the search box at the top of the Google Calendar home screen while only the “VAP Public Calendar” is open — i.e. while it’s the only box checked in the left-hand column.
- You can generate a list of only the VAP calendar events that list you as a participant, including classes, practice times, coaching times, lesson times, meetings and rehearsals. (Enter your first name in the search box at the top of the Google Calendar home screen while the VAP Public calendar is open.)
- You can bookmark the results of any search for one-touch access to the latest, most accurate version of the schedule.
If you don’t have access to the VAP Public Calendar in the google calendar app, please contact your program coordinator.

How to use the Google Calendar app for viewing the VAP Public Calendar:
Before arriving at Bard for your first semester you will have received an email from [email protected] (via google calendar) that says:
“Hello [email protected],
We are writing to let you know that [email protected], has given you access to view events on the Google Calendar called “VAP Public Calendar”.
After adding this calendar to your other calendars, you can hide or completely remove it whenever you want.
Add this calendar.
– The Google Calendar Team”

Once you click on “Add this calendar” the google calendar app will open and the VAP Public Calendar will appear on your list of google calendars on the left side of the screen:
Now that you’ve added the VAP public calendar you can easily access it from your Bard gmail home screen by clicking on the grid in the upper right hand corner…
…and then clicking on the icon for the google calendar app:

To get a personalized list of all of your VAP events, make sure the VAP Public Calendar is open (i.e. make sure the box next to it is checked on the list of google calendars). Click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner.
A search box will pop up near the top of the screen. Fill in your first name and hit “enter”. A list of all your VAP events will appear, like so (but not so blurry!):
Note that some of your sessions will be listed as part of a block, in which case you just click on the entry to get your specific time.
