Practice Room Reservation Rules

Practice rooms are located in several areas on campus.  The bulk of the practice rooms are in Blum and in the Practice Room Building. There are also eight practice rooms in the basement of the New Robbins dorm. For information on how to request a practice room in New Robbins, please click here.

How to Request a Practice Room:

1. • Email your request to [email protected] with the details below:
     • Your full name
     • Date and time when you need the room (no more than 7 days in advance)
     • Whether or not a piano is needed
     • Booking purpose (individual practice, chamber rehearsal, recording, etc.)
   • You may also make a request in person at the front desk with our Bito lobby monitors.
     • If our monitor is away from the front desk during scheduling hours, please notify Philip McNaughton ([email protected]). You should then send your booking request to [email protected].
   • You may request up to 2 blocks of 2 hours of reservation per request. If you need additional time, you will need to make another reservation for a different space in a separate request.
   • Please follow all practice room rules.

*PLEASE NOTE* Reservations made in Bito Studios may be bumped or shifted to accommodate lessons, coachings, and classes.

Studio & Practice Room Rules

• • Food or beverages are strictly prohibited inside the practice rooms.
  • All personal belongings must be removed after practicing is completed.
  • If a student failed to show after, or leave the room vacant for more than 10 minutes, another student may take over that room for the remainder of the time reserved.
  • Only piano music may be placed on the pianos. Do not place any belongings on the pianos such as books, jackets, instrument cases, etc.
  • The practice room must be used for practicing.
  • If you are unable to make it to your practice booking, please email [email protected] to cancel your reservation.

Abuse of the practice rooms or failure to follow the practice room rules will result in revocation of practice room privileges and could lead to probation (see Conservatory probation)
