Recording and Streaming Requests

General Guidelines For Recording & Streaming:

Non-Degree Recitals, Master Classes, Visiting Artist Concerts, and Special Events may be streamed/recorded in the Conservatory Performance Space (CPS) and Olin Hall, by prior arrangement, when possible.

All final degree recitals in CPS & Olin Hall will be live-streamed and recorded if your program information and Conservatory Production Form Packet are submitted on time.

Conservatory Performance Space & Olin Hall Live-streaming & Recital Recording Guidelines:

  1. If you would like your event to be live-streamed from CPS or Olin Hall, you must submit your Conservatory Production Form Packet at least 30 days before your scheduled event.
    • Submitting this form does not guarantee that your event will be live-streamed. Requests submitted less than 30 days before an event will be subject to review.
  2. It is best practice to have a backup recorder if your performance is to be used for applications or is a special event.
    • A video camera may be available for your use and can be reserved through Marc Mancus ([email protected]) in the Concert Office.
  3. An archive of streamed degree recitals and special performances will be available for a limited time on our YouTube Channel.
  4.  Recital recordings will be sent within one week of recital completion.

Degree Recital recordings are your responsibility to save and/or share once you’ve received them. The Conservatory does not keep additional copies nor can we keep digital downloads once you’ve received your recording.

Conservatory Performance Space Recording Guidelines:

  1. Recordings in CPS may be booked in 2-hour slots, depending on hall availability.
  2. Requests must be submitted by email to Mary-Liz O’Neill ([email protected]) at least two weeks in advance. You may also reserve studios to record in Bitó or Blum at the lobby desk. Requests received after 5pm on any weekday will be addressed the following day. Requests received after 5pm on Fridays will be addressed the following Monday. Please plan accordingly.
  3. Use of the CPS recording equipment is only authorized for use by trained student engineers and staff and must be arranged at least two weeks in advance through Marc Mancus.
    • To request a student recording engineer in CPS, send an email to Marc Mancus at [email protected] least two weeks before your scheduled recording session. Student recording engineers are paid directly at a rate of $16.00/hr.
    • If your request for a student engineer cannot be accommodated, a video camera may be available for your use and can be reserved through Marc Mancus ([email protected]) in the Concert Office.
  • For Graduating Students Only: The Conservatory will provide each graduating student a total of 2 hrs of recording time with a student recording engineer in CPS, free of charge. For additional recording time over the allocated 2 hrs, students may choose to hire a student recording engineer at the rate above.

Please note that CPS is not a recording studio; guaranteed recordings or professional quality recordings should be done in a dedicated recording studio. Recordings are of archival quality and are not edited.
