Non-Degree Recitals

NON-DEGREE RECITALS

1) SCHEDULE A NON-DEGREE RECITAL DATE:

Non-degree recital scheduling, including required 3rd-year recitals, is coordinated via the Student Recital & Project Scheduling Form and finalized by Mary-Liz O’Neill, Associate Director of Curriculum and Programming ([email protected]).

Third Year Students must complete the Student Recital & Project Scheduling Form by September 30, 2024.

Non-degree recital dates will be scheduled after degree recitals are booked. Students should use the Google form to request a date.

If you need a collaborative pianist, you must go through the pianist request process once your performance date & time have been confirmed.

2) SUBMIT RECITAL PROGRAM INFORMATION:

Please upload a formatted program as a Word or Google document to your recital folder no later than thirty days before your scheduled recital date. Please label this document in the following format: Name_Event Date_Document Name.

How to Format your Recital Program:

If you choose to have program notes, they must be submitted at least one week in advance of your recital. Please use the following guidelines: Texts and Translations Guidelines

3) SUBMIT STAGE SET UP AND PRODUCTION NEEDS

Complete and submit theConservatory Production Form Packet to your recital google folder at least thirty days before your recital date. Be sure to discuss any special needs, well in advance, with Marc Mancus ([email protected]). Production Needs submitted less than 30 days before your recital may not be met. Please label this document in the following format: Name_Event Date_Form/Document Name.

4) SUBMIT ANY SPECIAL REQUEST FORMS:

Requests for historical keyboard instruments, A/V equipment, percussion instruments, prepared piano, and/or piano lid removal, must be submitted and approved thirty days in advance of your recital. Please refer to the non-degree recital contract or the Non Required Recital Checklist for details on each request process.

5) SUBMIT PUBLICITY INFORMATION:

Students giving non-degree recitals, in any venue, are responsible for producing and printing their own posters.

For digital marketing, recital posters and images must be submitted directly through your recital google folder at least 30 days prior to the recital date. Posters will be displayed as the youtube thumbnail image for the livestream, as well as on the TV in the Conservatory lobby. Additionally, an image with no text must be submitted for the calendar listing on the Conservatory event page. Posters and images that will be posted online must be submitted as a .jpeg image and the file size is required to be under 2MB.

Please note that landscape posers are ideal for YouTube thumbnail images and the Bito Monitor. Printed posters are typically in portrait formatting. Posters should be formatted for 11 x 17 paper. If you are using Canva for poster creation, please do not use Canva’s ‘poster setting’, as it makes the posters 18″ x 24″ (too large for us to print). Printed posters are not provided by the Concert Office for non-degree recitals. Please contact [email protected] for pricing information and printing details.

It is your responsibility to send us the correctly sized and formatted images. Please label posters and images in the following format: Name_Event Date_Poster or Image Name.

When choosing your event/performance listing image, it is important to take into consideration intellectual property rights. For this reason, we encourage you to use original images that you have created yourself from scratch containing no derivative works of art/imagery. Alternatively, you can use images that you have verified as being in the public domain.

Please remember to include the name of your collaborative pianist on your poster (if applicable).

Public domain images may be reproduced, altered and distributed without permission. It is important to verify that an image is within the public domain and has no restrictions on its use before you choose it. Additionally, for any such materials that you use, you are required to cite the creator and the original source.

6) SCHEDULE A DRESS REHEARSAL:

Dress rehearsals are not guaranteed for non-required recitals. Please check with your pianist and any additional performers on your recital before requesting dress rehearsal dates from the Concert Office (Mary-Liz O’Neill). The Concert Office cannot guarantee that a dress rehearsal time will be available.
