{"id":417,"date":"2013-06-25T18:06:29","date_gmt":"2013-06-25T18:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mba\/?p=417"},"modified":"2013-06-25T18:06:29","modified_gmt":"2013-06-25T18:06:29","slug":"bard-mba-in-sustainability-consulting-class-featured-at-2013-sustainable-brands-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mba\/2013\/06\/25\/bard-mba-in-sustainability-consulting-class-featured-at-2013-sustainable-brands-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Bard MBA in Sustainability&#8217;s NYCLab featured at the 2013 Sustainable Brands Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bard MBA in Sustainability&#8217;s innovative consulting class <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bard.edu\/mba\/program\/nyclab.php\">NYCLab<\/a> was profiled at this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainablebrands.com\/events\/sb13\/about\">Sustainable Brands<\/a> conference.<\/p>\n<p>Held in San Diego this past June, the Sustainable Brands conference was an oppurtunty for sustainability business professionals, corporations, and game-changers to come together as a community to &#8220;focus on understanding and leveraging the role of brands in shaping a flourishing future&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Bard MBA in Sustainability student Meghan Ryan &#8217;14 was interviewed at the conference by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.triplepundit.com\/\">Triple Pundit<\/a>&#8216;s Nick Aster\u00a0on her involvement with the program&#8217;s year-long\u00a0sustainability\u00a0consulting program called NYCLab. Students in NYCLab are divided into small teams to work with clients ranging from non-profits, for-profits and global companies on social and environmental challenges today&#8217;s generation of companies face.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan&#8217;s NYCLab project focused on research and development for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unileverusa.com\/sustainable-living\/\">Unilever<\/a>, a leading sustainability industry giant, and their quest to find solutions for under electrification in developing markets. The team focused on Ghana as a potential marketable area.
