{"id":1994,"date":"2018-10-30T10:52:49","date_gmt":"2018-10-30T14:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mba\/?p=1994"},"modified":"2018-10-30T10:52:49","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T14:52:49","slug":"bard-mba-featured-in-two-new-reports-on-sustainability-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mba\/2018\/10\/30\/bard-mba-featured-in-two-new-reports-on-sustainability-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Bard MBA Featured in Two New Reports on Sustainability Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Bard MBA in Sustainability\u2019s innovative graduate degree has been recognized in two major new reports, one focused on education to advance a \u201ccircular economy\u201d, and the second on business and sustainable development.<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mbaportal\/files\/2018\/10\/MBAReports.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-382\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mbaportal\/files\/2018\/10\/MBAReports.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"893\" height=\"535\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The first report, published by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, is titled <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ellenmacarthurfoundation.org\/our-work\/activities\/universities\/learning-landscape-research\"><em>A Global Snapshot of Circular Economy Learnings in Higher Education<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 Circular economy approaches focus on designing waste and pollution out of\u00a0 production processes; keeping products and materials in use; and regenerating natural systems. Bard is acknowledged as one of only five educational programs in the United States offering explicit course-work focused on circular economy&#8212; along with Columbia, Harvard, Stanford, and the University of California at Santa Barbara. In fact, Bard this year <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/leadthechange.bard.edu\/blog\/bard-mba-adds-focus-in-impact-finance-and-circular-economy\">launched the first graduate focus area in circular economy<\/a> within an MBA program in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The second report, <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/businessfightspoverty.org\/articles\/the-role-of-business-in-eduction-for-sustainable-development\/\"><em>The Role of Business in Education for Sustainable Development<\/em><\/a><strong>, <\/strong>highlights the Bard MBA in a pairing along with Arizona State\u2019s Executive Master of Sustainability Leadership Program. Bard is recognized for demanding \u201ca comprehensive business literacy from participants, emphasizing that the sources of sustainable business advantage are found not just in operations, in strategy, in marketing or in employee engagement, but rather throughout the business. \u00a0[The program] emphasizes how to apply the tools learned to building a mission driven business, and how to execute strategies to bring sustainability visions to life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mbaportal\/files\/2018\/10\/SustyDegreePrograms.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-383 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bard.edu\/mbaportal\/files\/2018\/10\/SustyDegreePrograms.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"362\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The report is published by a consortium including the UN PRME (Principles of Sustainable Management).\u00a0 Contributors including Starbucks, Levi&#8217;s, and Credit Suisse show how \u201cbusiness is investing in developing future leaders, and engaging employees through shared solutions for business and society.
