Congrats to Team Lead the Change!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.bard.edu\/www\/images\/SHSL_cropped.png\" alt=\"Team Lead the Change at the Patagonia Case Competition\" width=\"314\" height=\"209\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Disrupt to Sustain\u2019s Spent Grain team of Lindsey Strange, Sam Levitt, and Sarah Hutcherson (all \u201919) represented Bard MBA at the Food Solutions Challenge as a Finalist at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netimpact.org\/programs\/food-solutions-2018\">2018 Net Impact Accelerator in Oakland<\/a> in early April.<br \/>\nThey will submit their final pitches and learn the results in early May.<\/p>\n<p>Two Aim2Flourish stories written by 2017\u2019s Employees and Organizations class were chosen to be among the top 17 finalists. Congrats to Jesse Cutaia \u201918, Martin Freeman \u201918, Sam Levine \u201917, and Luke Olson 18 for their <a href=\"http:\/\/aim2flourish.com\/innovations\/apds-is-changing-corrections-for-good\">APDS is Changing Corrections for Good<\/a> story and to Alistair Hall \u201918, Amy Campbell Bogie \u201917, and Sven Thiessen \u201918 on their story, <a href=\"http:\/\/aim2flourish.com\/innovations\/helping-the-people-of-yonkers-thrive\">Helping the People of Yonkers Thrive<\/a>. The teams will present final deliverables to their clients during the May residency. They\u2019ll be working at Citizens Bank and Kickstarter, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Cory Skuldt \u201918 is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netimpact.org\/programs\/wear-it-wise\">&#8220;Wear It Wise&#8221;<\/a> campaign leader for Net Impact. His first, Broto: Art, Science &amp; Collaboration, is a new annual event and online community that\u2019s creating a functional framework for artists and scientists to collaborate more effectively on climate change. <a href=\"https:\/\/broto.eco\/\">Broto<\/a> will take place May 4-6, 2018 in Provincetown, MA. Alumni and current students interested in the main program on May 6th should contact <a href=\"ian@broto.eco\">Ian<\/a> about a Bard discount. Ian\u2019s second project is helping to organize <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ted.com\/tedx\/events\/26756\">20\/20: Perfect [IN]sight<\/a> on June 30th at TEDxProvincetown.<\/p>\n<p>Bernell Grier \u201915 was named to the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/philanthropynewyork.org\/news\/robert-sterling-clark-foundation-launches-network-cross-sector-leaders-advance-economic\">network of cross-sector leaders<\/a>. The network\u2019s goal is to advance economic mobility in New York City, and Bernell joins 48 NYC change-makers selected for their dedication to addressing and resolving the root causes of the city\u2019s most challenging economic issues.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Lykins \u201919 has been busy making a difference in the Capital Region. He joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecosny.org\/\">Board of Directors for the Environmental Clearinghouse of Schenectady (ECOS)<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schenectadycounty.com\/SCEAC\">Schenectady County Environmental Advisory Council (SCEAC)<\/a> as the Communications Chair, and became the Capital Region Representative for <a href=\"http:\/\/nycshe.org\/about\/regions\/\">New York Coalition for Sustainability in Higher Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Olivia Gossett Cooper\u2019s \u201918 daily newsletter, Today We Will, was featured on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ethicacollective.com\/new-blog\/todaywewill\">Ethica Collective<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Campbell \u201917 is organizing a track on Community Capital at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commonbound.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CommonBound 2018<\/a>\u00a0in St. Louis with the National Coalition for Community Capital. She moderated a panel discussion on divestment from fossil fuels at the IEEFA conference in March, with Adam Zurofsky of Governor Cuomo&#8217;s office, Dan Zarrilli of Mayor de Blasio&#8217;s office, and Denise Patel of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/350.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">350.org<\/a>. Kathy also moderated Bard MBA\u2019s second annual discussion \u201cTo Divest or To Engage: A Discussion on Fossil Fuel Divestment\u201d with panelists Hunter Lovins, Pete Grannis, Tom Sanzillo, and Leah Fuhlbrugge.<\/p>\n<p>Entrepreneurship professor Alejandro Crawford was recently the keynote speaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isyec.org\/en\/speaker\/alejandro-crawford\/\">ISYEC<\/a>\u2014check out this video of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AbdullahGulUNV\/videos\/1360364447400986\/?q=abdullah%20gul%20universitesi&amp;utm_content=buffere0cca&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=buffer\">speech<\/a> (it starts at 1:25:52). In February, Alejandro spoke on a panel at Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network of DC, and he recently spoke on at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasrinjafari.com\/blog\/2018\/3\/13\/announcing-frontier-roundtable-topics\">Frontier Roundtable<\/a> on \u201cYouth Entrepreneurship: Democratizing the Path to Building a Better World.\u201d In May, he and Alistair Hall \u201918 will be presenting at case study they developed at Fordham\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fordham.edu\/info\/27343\/international_conference_on_sustainable_cities\">International Conference on Sustainable Cities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.bard.edu\/www\/images\/HL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"261\" height=\"327\" \/>Big congrats to Hunter Lovins who has sent her book, A Finer Future, to the publisher. It\u2019s due out in early September. As always, Hunter\u2019s been busy!\u00a0 She was the keynote speaker at the Green Accord conference in Florence, Italy, the Community Economies conference in Kelowna British Columbia, and the National Capital Symposium on behalf of The Savory Network. Hunter co-chaired the international new economy organization, WE-All (The Wellbeing Economy Alliance) where she helped fundraise, write and develop a compelling narrative and organize international groupings that will partner with WE-All to help disseminate its principles.<\/p>\n<p>At Natural Capitalism Solutions, she has helped launch Free Sustainability Consulting\/\/Sustainability for All, which offers free sustainability consulting to small business.<\/p>\n<p>Kris Kohl, Bard\u2019s Employees and Organizations professor, presented a webinar to project management professionals for ITMPI entitled \u201cCreating Project Teams to Deliver Sustainable Outcomes\u201d and spoke to the Wharton Club of New Jersey about gender equality with a presentation entitled \u201cFemale Empowerment Drives Organizational Success.\u201d She is a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia Education and Talent Action Team and helped issue a report <a href=\"https:\/\/chamberphl.com\/2018\/03\/10-ways-to-retain-young-talent\/\">&#8220;10 Ways to Retain Young Talent&#8221;<\/a>.
