Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdiMagtUolEy1AKo0fvY5Yfy1XPzDo3AP2q36qc048QSYpyew\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Piano Fellow Request Form<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to <strong>request a pianist<\/strong> as soon as you submit your application. Your teacher must also give permission for you to enter the competition via an email to <a href=\"mailto:moneill@bard.edu\">moneill@bard.edu<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>You must prepare the entire work and perform it from memory &#8211;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> unless you receive special permission from Frank Corliss to use music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Send\u00a0a <strong>pdf\u00a0of the concerto score,\u00a0<\/strong>with page numbers, (the piano reduction, not the solo part) by October 24 to <span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"mailto:moneill@bard.edu\">moneill@bard.edu<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Previous winners of the concerto competition are ineligible to compete again.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate Certificate (APS) students and Collaborative Piano Fellows are not eligible to enter the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Winners of the competition must be current students or recent alumni\/ae when they perform with the orchestra.<\/p>\n<h3>Repertoire and Timing<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Instrumentalists:<\/strong> Concertos or works for soloist(s) and orchestra are acceptable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Instrumentalists: <\/strong>Duo concertos are acceptable; however, entrants may not enter also with a solo concerto in addition.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Voice Majors<\/strong>: Works written for solo voice and orchestra are acceptable. Excerpts from larger works (e.g. an opera or oratorio) do not meet the requirement.<\/li>\n<li>The entire work should be prepared with piano accompaniment.<\/li>\n<li>All works should be performed from memory. Special exceptions may be made for particularly complex newer works with prior permission from Frank Corliss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preliminary Round:<\/strong> <strong>Each student will have a 15-minute slot. Students may begin with a selection of 7 minutes and judges may request other sections in the remaining time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Round performances will be up to 20 minutes long<\/strong>. <strong>Students may begin with 7 minutes of their own choosing, and judges may request other sections in the remaining time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>This round will be open to the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Winners<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Following the final performance, the judges will deliberate and choose up to three soloists to appear with the Conservatory Orchestra or The Orchestra Now.
