Screening the Film
Note: Our national screening occurred on April 17th, 2013. You may still download the film as noted below, and enjoy it privately. The screening fee associated with showing the film publicly into the future must be negotiated by contacting IDP films (contact below).
How it happened:
To screen the film, each group may download the film from iTunes — or buy a hard copy from Amazon or eBay. To download: first download iTunes on the computer that you’ll use to show the film and create an iTunes account, if you don’t have one already. Second, rent or buy as indicated below:
- Rent normal:$3.99
- Rent HD: $4.99
- Buy normal: $9.99
- Buy HD:$12.99
- Buy hard copy: $27.95 from Amazon (new)
- Buy hard copy: $12.85 from Amazon sellers (new)
- Buy hard copy: $15.26 from eBay
If you rent the film from iTunes, it downloads automatically and you have 30 days to watch it. However, once you press play, you have 24 hours to watch it. We recommend you download it a week in advance to allow for any technical difficulties.
Each organization hosting a public screening in conjunction with this event must raise $125 for the licensing fee to screen the film publicly (watching the film in your house? Skip this section) . Samuel Goldwyn Films holds exclusive rights for The Island President in the USA. Participating schools/groups need to email Sean McDonnell (firstname.lastname@example.org) at IDP Distribution ASAP with the following information:
The fact that you are participating in the C2C Fellows screening
Name of Organization / School paying the fee
Sean will email you back with an invoice to submit to the organization/school that will be paying for the licensing fee so a check may be issued for the payment. Please do this PRIOR TO the date of the screening — email us if you are having difficulty getting in touch with IDP films.
