Join us for a national day of action focused around political corruption and climate stalemate.  On April 17^th, at 7pm EST be part of a nationwide screening of the powerful film The Island President – “as one of the most low-lying countries in the world, a rise of three feet in sea level would submerge the 1200 islands of the Maldives enough to make them uninhabitable.”  The film will be followed by a live broadcast with the Director, Jon Shenk (top left), Former UN Deputy Permanent Representative to the Maldives and Co-Founder of voiceofwomen.org, Thilmeeza Hussain,  (top middle), and also Executive Director and Co-Founder of 350.org, May Boeve, (top right).  The discussion will be moderated by the Director of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy and Bard’s MBA in Sustainability, Eban Goodstein, and is sponsored by The C2C Fellows Network and the The Bard Center for Environmental Policy.

The Island President links the struggle for democracy and human rights with the fight to stabilize the climate. This is the exact challenge facing us right here in the United States.  Billions of dollars in fossil fuel money is corrupting our democracy and poisoning the future.
