Why We Can’t Wait: Martin Luther King’s Philosophy Today

11:00am – 2:00pm

Project Description

In this workshop students will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the philosophy of MLK and its lessons for today’s social movements. We will discuss King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” and his four basic steps involved in conducting a nonviolent campaign: collection of the facts to determine whether injustices are alive; negotiation; self-purification; and direct action.
