    • BHSEC Queens faculty member Niamh Goulding was published in the December 2013 issue of the Journal of Neural Transmission. The article is entitled “Cerebellar and parkinsonian phenotypes in multiple system atrophy: similarities, differences and survival.”
    • BHSEC Queens faculty member Danielle LaSusa has been published in Severally Seeking Sartre (Cambridge Scholars Press 2013) and Sartre Studies International.
    • Bruce Matthews’ (BHSEC Manhattan) essay “The New Mythology: Romanticism Between Religion and Humanism,” appears in The Relevance of Romanticism, edited by Dalia Nassar (Oxford University Press, 2013).
  • Students
    • Congratulations to BHSEC Manhattan student Conrad Taylor who won an Outstanding Delegate award at the 2014 Harvard Model United Nations Conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
    • Congratulations to BHSEC Queens’ Rita Curti and David Yang for their outstanding performances at the 2014 NYC Regional Brain Bee. Rita advanced to the fifth round, of six and David placed third overall.brain-bee-photo
    • On Thursday, January 30, over a dozen BHSEC Queens students and staff volunteered at the New York Common Pantry, helping to fulfill grocery orders for families in need.
    • Congratulations to BHSEC Newark’s Maloni Jones, who has been selected to study abroad in Australia this summer through the People to People Ambassador Program.
    • Congratulations to BHSEC Queens’ Nicole Werpachowski, who win second place in the Dana Foundation’s national “Design a Brain” contest
    • Congratulations to BHSEC Manhattan’s Alexandra Gumas ’14 for winning the 2013-2014 Wangari Maathai Award and $10,000 college scholarship! For the past few years, Alexandra Gumas has run a bottle cap collection contest with BHSEC’s environmental club.
